Snow crabs come from the North Pacific and from Canadian waters in the North Atlantic. There are 3 species of snow crab, bairdii, the largest, opilio, smaller and the tanner or queen crab. The Alaskan crab is more expensive than the Canadian and is superior in taste. Crabs average 5 pounds for the bairdii and just over 1 pound for the opilio.
Product Characteristics: Snow crab is packed cooked and almost always frozen. Its meat is sweet and delicate. Serve cold with Sea Harbor Cocktail Sauce (regular or extra spicy)
